Joanna is the CEO of BenevolentAI, an adviser to Prime Minister on the Digital Economy at No 10 Downing Street, Joanna is former Chair of Tech City and the UK's Business Ambassador for Digital Industries.  Prior to that Joanna was Vice President of Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Facebook. Prior to Facebook, Shields was Chief Executive of Bebo where she built the company from a start-up into one of Europe's leading social networks and spearheaded its successful acquisition by AOL, Time Warner for $850M in March 2008. After the acquisition, she served as President of AOL's social and communications division. Prior to Bebo, she was Managing Director, Syndication and Partnerships for Google Europe, Russia, Middle East & Africa.
